The European Investment Bank (EIB) is the financing institution of the European Union. Its mission is to help implement the EU’s policy objectives by financing sound investment projects. The EIB is the world’s largest multilateral lender and the biggest provider of climate finance.
Tilia and its subsidiary decon international, in consortium with Steag Energy Services, have been awarded a framework contract with the EIB to provide Consultancy Services in the Energy Sector until 2022. Our consortium, led by decon international, provides support to the Projects Directorate of the Bank (in particular the Energy Department), which is in charge of assessing the economic, environmental and social, financial and technical sustainability of projects and compliance with EU and EIB sector policies.
Within this framework contract, the Tilia Group offers its independent expert opinion on issues concerning the energy sector – comprising Power Generation & Networks as well as Energy Efficiency – that may arise for projects inside or outside the EU. The assignments may cover the following activities and responsibilities:
- The appraisal and monitoring of energy projects;
- The provision of project preparation, implementation and institutional support to promoters, including major technical assistance programmes;
- The provision of specific expertise in engineering and economics to undertake specific studies or research in a particular area or sub-sector of the energy sector.
