Michael Tietz

Michael Tietz has more than 20 years of professional experience in the energy and renewables sector. During his career he has gained extensive knowledge on project management, planning; design, team leading, provision of technical expertise, capacity building as well as operation of companies in the electrical building and appliances sector.

He studied at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and holds a master’s degree in economics (Diplom-Kaufmann).

In Tilia, he works as Senior Advisor with a focus on strategy development for newly founded utility companies, as well as management consulting, incl. re-organisation and optimization of structures and processes for utilities. His work includes analysis, design, implementation and success monitoring.

Before joining Tilia, Michael Tietz got 12 years of extensive experience in the fields of M&A and restructuring/reorganisation in the areas of renewable energies / photovoltaics / decentralised energy supply and distribution. He gained experience in the design and integration of new business units within the framework of external and organic growth, Design and implementation of disinvestments and support for MBO/MBI. He has been involved in the development and execution of optimized exits and transactions in special situations including going-concern sales, management buy outs and  carve outs
