New investments and infrastructure

Potsdam-Krampnitz Eco-District

Tilia June 30, 2018 No Comments

In collaboration with Energie und Wasser Potsdam GmbH (EWP), a German utility company in the federal state of Brandenburg, Tilia conceived a new energy supply concept for the former military site Krampnitz Kaserne in the city of Potsdam. This site had been decommissioned in 1992, and is being converted into a modern eco-district with more than 7,000 dwellings.

Tilia‘s energy concept, based on renewable energy sources and a flexible generation infrastructure, will secure an emission-free energy supply of the new district at lower costs than the initial estimates. This custom-made heating and electricity supply concept includes a variant analysis with several energy producers, a calculation tool for load profile analysis, the integration of heat storage systems and an annual performance evaluation tool.

As a result of this work, the energy primary factor for the energy supply dropped down to zero, and the heat price decreased significantly, in comparison with the planned reference base.
