Tilia wins the Leipzig Business Award 2024 - we are so delighted!
On November 13, 2024, Tilia GmbH will be awarded the Leipzig Business Prize “Via Oeconomica” – an honor that deeply moves us as a company. The event will be held in a festive setting in the historic ballroom of Leipzig’s Old Town Hall.
This award not only reflects our economic success, but also recognizes Tilia GmbH’s deep connection to the city of Leipzig, where we were founded 15 years ago.
Our name “Tilia”, Latin for “lime tree”, symbolically refers to Leipzig’s origins as a “place of lime trees” and to our strong roots in this historic city.

An identity-forming prize for Leipzig
The Leipzig Business Award “Via Oeconomica” was presented for the first time in 2015 as part of Leipzig’s 1000th anniversary celebrations. This annual award, which is presented in front of over 200 invited guests in the Old Town Hall, has gained in importance since then.
Companies are honored in various categories for their special role in Leipzig as a business location. The award recognizes loyalty to the location, innovative strength and the positive influence on the local job market. The sustainable and exemplary corporate culture is particularly important.
Until 2018, companies were awarded in the categories “Manufacturing”, ‘Trade’ and “Services” as well as a special prize for young companies. Since 2019, Via Oeconomica has honored companies in the categories “Leipzig stays!” for companies with over 100 years of tradition, “Leipzig grows!” for companies that have been in existence between 10 and 99 years, and “Leipzig comes!” for young companies up to 9 years old.
The award winners are selected by a high-caliber jury from the City of Leipzig and Gemeinsam für Leipzig e.V.. Personal applications are not permitted, and guests will only find out which companies will be honored on the evening of the award ceremony.
